And it is time to take back control!
Last week was a very difficult week for us for many reasons, including the fact that Andrew was sick. Other reasons I am not ready to talk about yet. However, in a weeks time, my house absolutely took over. I had no motivation to do anything more than take care of Andrew. So, the dishes piled up, the clutter mounded, and for the first time in several months, all of my laundry baskets were filled with clean clothes and the floors were piled with dirty clothes!
**I have recently learned how to cross things out in HTML thanks to the Playful Professional, so I will now be crossing things off as I get them done. I love being able to do this!**
1. Get the laundry done!
2. Clean up the clutter on/under/around the coffee table.
3. Write up the final proposal for Scripture Memorization Program.
4. Wash the guest room sheets.
5. Get my direct deposit changed to the new bank.
We are a little behind in our budget because of some "unexpected" expenses that came up. Namely: Property taxes for our cars. Oops! I forgot about those. So, I am trying to keep our menu as inexpensive as possible for the next two weeks. We will be purchasing only the bare necessities.
Monday: Cheeseburgers and Tater Tots
Tuesday: Grilled Ham & Cheese with Tomato or Cream of Potato Soup
Wednesday: Leftover Cowboy Soup (from freezer)
Thursday: Pulled Pork Sandwiches- We never got around to this a couple of weeks ago, so I put the pork in the freezer.
Friday: Sloppy Joes
Saturday/Sunday: Leftovers unless something else comes up.
I may try to make some Apple Dumplings this week...sometime. They are amazing!

Monday Madness and Menu Plan Monday
Update from last week: I got my pantry cleaned out (pictures to be posted later), my manuals folder cleaned out, and got half of the podcasts up. I seem to be very productive at the beginning of the week and then it trails off. So, there are some repeats this week from last week's list.
1. Finish the podcasts. I got the software I need now to edit them the way I need to.
2. Finish my plan for the church Scripture Memorization Project I am trying to get started.
3. Get my taxes done. I got the last paperwork in the mail over the weekend.
4. Go to the bank. I have been carrying around a couple of checks to deposit for a couple of weeks, now.
5. Work on the paper clutter in the office.
Last week, we tried the Creamy Chicken Burritos. They were great! They were very easy to make, inexpensive, and yummy! We used wheat tortillas and that added a lot to it! Also, I think next time, we will try shredding the chicken instead of chunking it. Unfortunately, I don't know how they are for left-overs. I set the pan on the back of the stove to let them cool before putting them in the refrigerator. When I got up Friday morning, they were still sitting right where I left them! I was so disappointed!
On to this week's menu:
Monday: Cowboy Soup- This makes a big pot and we can eat on it for lunches and freeze some for later, also.
Tuesday: Leftovers
Wednesday: Eating in town or leftovers at home. It depends on whether or not we come home before church.
Thursday: Slow Cooker Pulled Pork, Grilled asparagus
Friday: Monterrey Chicken, Green Beans
Saturday: Polynesian Pot Roast, roasted potatoes, rolls (a new favorite around our house. Andrew has been begging for it lately!)
Sunday: Leftovers unless something else comes up.
*I only put links to new recipes. You can find links to the other recipes in my older MPM posts, or ask me for the recipe in the comments or by email.

Monday Madness
I am so excited! I got up this morning and my house was already somewhat clean! That means this week, I can get some of the projects done that I have been trying to get to, but have not yet. You will probably recognize some of these...
1. Clean out and organize the pantry.
2. Clean out the "Manuals" folder in my file cabinet.
3. Finish my plan for the church Scripture Memorization Project I am trying to get started.
4. Get the Podcasts updated- I am helping out with getting our preacher's sermons on the podcast on our church's website. The girl who has been doing it just had a baby. Yea Kristi!
5. Tackle the other paper clutter in the office.

Monday Madness
I have not posted my Monday Madness for a while. Partly, this is because I had not kept up with my five things and partly because I was not home enough. But, here I am again, setting my goals for another week.
1. I still need to go through my manuals folder and clean it out.
2. Clean out my pantry- I found something in there from 2003 today! YUCK!
3. Work on the Bible verses I am working on memorizing.
4. Collect cat hair around the house- sweep the floors and get hair off of furniture.
5. Write up my thoughts for memorization program at church- I am working on getting a congregational scripture memorization program started at church. I need to get all of my thoughts organized so we can proceed.
I challenge you to get 5 things, or even 2 things, done this week that you have been putting off. It will make you feel better!

Monday Madness
Today's Monday Madness is pretty simple:
1. Get the house straightened up. That is my goal for the week. My house may have taken over with the craziness of the holidays, but it is time to take it back!

Monday Madness
Well, I did not get everything done last week. But, it did help to have a list of things to get done. I got 3/5 of them done, so that is good...right? Anyway, here are the five things for this week:
1. Finish my Christmas shopping- I did get part of this done, but I still have a couple more things to get.
2. Finish wrapping our Christmas presents. I have gotten a good start on this, but I still have several to do. I am planning on going to the Dollar Store to get some more bags- I love bags!
3. Clean out our manual file- left over from last week.
4. Clean out my bookmarks on my toolbar- I have a section where I mark sites that I come across, but don't have time to look at right then. Then, when I finally get around to it, I forget to remove the bookmark; or move it to a more appropriate bookmark folder.
5. Work on Randy's brochure- I am helping my brother out with an informational brochure for his business. I have found some great stock photos for it, but now I need to get down to the nitty gritty of the text.

Monday Madness
I don't know about you, but it seems to me that there is so much to do in a week's time and not enough time to do it all! Because of this, I tend to forget things that I need to do, or just flat out don't make the time for it. That is why I am starting Monday Madness.
I am off work on Mondays and Thursdays, so I have to make the most of these days. That is why I am choosing Monday to do this.
I am going to list five things that I need to get done each week. That way, the important things don't get forgotten. Also, if I have posted them, I feel more accountable to actually get them done!
Here is my 5 things for this week:
1. Go to Sam's- We are in desperate need of Kitty Litter.
2. Get foam pad for guest room mattress- Right now, we have two twin-sized egg crate foam pads on our queen-sized guest bed. I don't know if it is comfortable for a guest to sleep on because they keep splitting when I am making the bed. That has got to get annoying. Even if it is still comfortable, I am tired of messing with it when I make the bed.
3. Sort out Appliance Manuals- I have collected every manual for every appliance, piece of electrical equipment, and broom (ok, maybe that is exaggerating) that we have bought since getting married. Five years may not be a really long time, but we have collected a lot of manuals. It is time to get rid of the ones we don't need any more. I have been putting this off for quite a while!
4. Get cost for Randy's office supplies and put up a wall- My brother has his own business and is renting an office here in Columbia, but we have to put up a wall in it. So, this is really more for Andrew, but I am helping. We are working on the wall this weekend.
5. Finish my Christmas Shopping- We only have a few more people to shop for and I want to get it all done before the stores get really crazy! I don't know if I will get this one completely done, but I do want to at least put a dent in it.
Feel free to join me in this project. I hope it will help with getting things done.
