Not So Fast!

Well, I thought I was in the clear when I did not hear from my doctor for a week after my glucose test...but I guess not! I got "the call" from Dr. Jones' nurse today telling me I was "just a little too high" on my sugar levels. That is the same thing they told me with Sydney.

So, I am scheduled to go in Thursday morning for my fasting glucose test. Not only can I not eat or drink anything (other than water) after 8 the night before, but I have to stay there 3 hours for them to draw my blood every hour. Fun times! I will probably take my laptop with me and go sit in the cafeteria or somewhere they offer free wi-fi. At least I should not get too bored.

Needless to say, I am in a pretty grumpy mood right now. More updates coming as I get them.

Good luck. I hope it goes well.

Good luck! The 3-hour test is a pain in the behind, but you'll make it through. Hopefully it'll be normal, but even if it isn't, your current low-carb diet is a good start. And you can ask Sandi or I for pointers since she & I both had to deal with the diets & the finger-pricking.

Good luck with the glucose test. Maybe something crazy will happen that will be blog worthy while you're sitting in the cafeteria! Maybe ...

I'm sorry, Tiffany. I know you were hoping to avoid all this...hopefully the test will come back okay -- in fact, when I did my 3 hour (I think I had to do 2 of them to be sure that I had the GD), the lady told me that they get a lot of people for whom it's a false alarm. BUT since you had it with Sydney, it's very possible, and if so, you will just have to do it. It will be okay, and everyone will do what they can to support you!! Love you.
