WFMW- Getting Rid of Clutter

I have always wanted to be more organized and to keep my house cleaner and less cluttered, but I have always failed miserably. I would go on a cleaning spree and get the house cleaned, but in the past, I have always dropped the ball and within a couple of days, the clutter had returned, and I felt overwhelmed and gave up.
When I started staying at home some, I decided that it was time for a change. I was tired of living everyday being overwhelmed and feeling like I had failed again. I started by reading the Org Junkie site and that helped some. Then, I found Flylady.net. FlyLady takes you through a morning and evening routine, one step at a time. She helped me see that I don't have to tackle the whole thing at one time, but that by tackling one thing at a time, it is not so overwhelming. She also sends email reminders and challenges during the day to help you stay on task. She tells you to take things 15 minutes at a time.
I have been using FlyLady's system for about a week and a half and it has really helped me get more organized. I start my new job next week, so we will see how it goes then. But for now, it Works for Me! For more tips, click here.

FlyLady really helped me too. I love reading all the testimonials, they help keep me on the ball. And I love my feather duster!

I did learn over time that it's best to create your own routines. I used hers as a jumping off point, but they didn't feel right until I adjusted them to work for my schedule.

I really appreciate your stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.

It is hard growing your blog and sometimes getting comments can be like pulling teeth. I get somewhere around 60 visitors a day now and most days I only get 4 or 5 comments. So that means 56 visitors didn't stop and take the time to say anything. A very low percentage of feedback. But, blog because you love to. Blog because it helps you and because you want to share what's in your heart and you want to help others. That is the ultimate reward. The comments are icing on the cake.

I was sorry to read about your loss. The death of child hurts more than any other.

I am sorry about Sidney. I really appreciated the blog that told people how to be with a greiving parent.

I like flylady, too. One of the best (and most simple) tips from her is, "Don't put it down, put it away!" Just thinking that helps me a lot.

Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog. I have some thoughts I would like to share with you, but the email used in the comment gets returned to me. If you are comfortable doing so, would you email me so I can get the correct address? Thanks! I've really enjoyed reading your blog.

I haven't used the flylady in years, I think it's time to return. :) My house is continually a mess. I don't know where all these children come from, oh yes, upstairs. Well, I don't know how they manage to "LIVE" in this house so thoroughly every day. Ha!

Thanks for reminding me about the Flylady.

OOOH Flylady is wonderful! I started using her concepts over a year ago, but unfortunately, I've stopped and gotten unmotivated again. Thanks for the reminder that I need to get on with it again!!
