On the Mountain in the Storm of Life

We found ourselves in an interesting place this past weekend. We went to the ZOE Worship Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. We feel like this conference was planned as if they knew we were coming. And, I guess, God did! While it was incredibly difficult, it was also a healing experience. The songs, speakers, and classes seemed to be directed specifically at us. Everything seemed to be reminding us that while, no, God may not fix everything the way we want him to, and even though we are going through a suffocating storm in our lives, God is still God and He is still sovereign and to be praised. So many songs we sing seem to be trite in the way they thank God for meeting our needs, but we sang a lot of songs that said that God will be there for us even in the storms of life. We met or heard from so many people who have lost a child and who have doubted and who are still praising God. While I cried through most of the songs in the worship portions, I still felt uplifted. The singing was incredible! It was like being back in chapel in college with hundreds of people singing at the top of their lungs. I have a lot of things to think about now, coming home. I am hoping this will jump-start my journey to a relationship with God.
Thank you God for putting us in the place where we could hear your voice and start finding our way back to a relationship with You!

I praise God with you and can't wait to hear more!

My trip, too, was a shot in the arm for me and a reminder of God's sovereignty and His need to be praised!!

Our class Sunday was "when the roof falls in". It was difficult to teach, as I told the class I don't think I will ever understand how anything beneficial could ever come from Sidney's death. Just have to pray for acceptance-understanding in this world may never come.
