Yesterday, we went to a sushi bar for lunch with some friends. I have never had sushi before, and I was not too excited about trying it. So, I ordered some shrimp and ate some edamame and agreed to try someone else's sushi...cooked, of course. While gearing myself up for it, I began to wonder at my sanity. I even searched out the bathroom in case I had to make a hasty escape...seriously!
But, alas, I tried it. And really did not like it. I swear it just started expanding in my mouth! I thought I would never get it all chewed up and swallowed!
But here is the thing, I really don't like fish, anyway. So, the crab meat that was in the sushi really did not appeal to me. So, maybe I could try one without any fish...a California roll?...and I might like that. But, I think it will be a long time before I get up the nerve to even try that again.
So, while I know there is a big craze over sushi right now...I just don't get it!

I don't like it either, but then, I'm not sure I've tried it. It just doesn't appeal to me. At all.
It took me a while, but I love the CA roll and I'm a big spring roll eater. I'm not a fan of the "raw" stuff though. I'll eat it, but only one piece per meal!
I'm with you. It doesn't taste even a little bit good.
I for sure won't eat anything raw, and don't care for the other. So totally agree!
Call me crazy, but I can tolerate the raw fish, and have been known to order it a time or two. But I can't stand the cold rice. It just has a bizarre texture and does that expanding thing, where you feel the need to chew forever. And the seaweed wrap they use just tastes like nasty pond water to me. So I'm not a fan.
Don't worry, sushi is a part of my culture and even I don't eat it! LOL!
Well you are braver than me-I wouldn't touch the stuff with a ten foot pole!!!! Brook
Also if you want to update your prayer list Luther is improving some and he has been moved to a nursing home about 45 min from home. Memory is still a big problem though.

we recently tried some that had no seafood in it, it wasn't too bad. I guess it depends on the location.
For a guy who doesn't even eat very much cooked fish-I sure would not ever even try raw. I know Andrew says that all sushi doesn't have fish in it: that is still the image I would have in my mind (and you know what they say about mind over matter)!
