It has been a while since I posted for WFMW. I just have not had any ideas of what to post about. But, today, I have an idea!
While we were dating, several people encouraged Andrew and I to find ways to spend time together doing things the other person enjoys. I thought I would start sharing some of the things that we enjoy doing together.
Andrew and I enjoy reading books together out loud. We started this during our premarital counseling when our counselor suggested we read a couple of books before getting married. As we lived away from both of our families, we had a lot of time in the car when we would go visit them. So, we started reading the books he suggested on those drives.
After getting married, we read the Lord of the Rings trilogy together. This took a while, but we really enjoyed it. Now, we are reading through the Harry Potter series together. Again.
Reading together works for us! Check out Shannon's for more WFMW ideas. Also, don't forget to check out and enter in my giveaway!

Good idea, Tiff. I wish I could read in the car without getting headaches, because we could definitely do this in our travels. I guess I could drive and he could read, but that's not a likely proposition...
We do our daily Bible reading out loud every night, which is great, but I would like to find time to read some other books, especially as Wendy gets older & can appreciate more.
My husband and I read the final Harry Potter book together on our honeymoon since it came out only a few days before our wedding. It was a wonderful way to spend some down time together, and, if ever ran out of something to talk about, we could always talk about what we thought would happen next!
I like this idea. We haven't tried that, but I think it would be fun.
We love to do this to, and just last night Hubby was reading the Bible out loud as I was drifting off to sleep. He's taking grad school classes right now, so our schedules haven't allowed for much of this lately and I miss it!
I've actually been wanting to do this, I just need to find a good book to start with! He's said that I could read to him if I read something that isn't "lame." LOL
Thank you for the reminder. We used to do this on our 20 hour drives to Vermont. We have gotten out of the habit over here in France mostly becasue we don't have that many books. It also doesn't help the process to have 2 little people who are not interested in the latest murder mystery, and I can read Clifford only so many times! :) We are getting ready for a trip that involves a good bit of driving. Maybe I can find a good book to take a long and read while M. drives. Thanks again!
I love to read and my husband does not enjoy reading so much. He does like to listen to audio books. I have read several books out loud to him. I am reading one by Lee Childs to him right now. We usually read like this in the car.
