We are a Wii Bit Crazy!

Yesterday, as we were cleaning up things around the house, Andrew sat down to roll some change. He decided to count up how much we have (we have been putting change away since college!). We were shocked to find out we had almost $300!

We realized that this would almost pay for a Nintendo Wii! Now, we have been struggling with the decision to buy a Wii for quite a while now. We started looking into it around Christmas, but, of course, they were nowhere to be found. Well, I take that back. You can find them on Ebay, but you can pay $100 more for one there.

So, yesterday, we thought we would just call around to see if anyone had one. We could not believe our good fortune when we heard that a shipment had come in and stores were allowed to start selling them this morning! That means that places like Circuit City or Best Buy start having lines out the door around 6am. However, the 24-hour Wal-Marts can start selling them at 12:01 am.

For those of you who do not know much about Columbia, Missouri, one of the Wal-Mart heiresses lives here (at least part of the time). We have three SuperWal-Marts here, plus one in several of the smaller towns around us. One of the employees at a Columbia Wal-Mart told us that the lines usually start around 8 pm. We are not quite that crazy to have a Wii. But, an employee in Booneville (a smaller nearby town) said that they had 15 and if we were really serious about getting one, to be there by 11:30 at the latest. Now that, we were willing to do.

So, at 10:30 last night, we showed up at Wal-Mart, got our number (lucky #7!) and sat down in some chairs that were provided to watch A Bee Movie (which was pretty cute by the way). When 12:01 came around, we had our Wii in hand, and were out of the store by 12:15! I guess you could say that we went Wii Wii Wii all the way home. I know, it's bad, but I am sleep deprived! We stayed at Andrew's parents house because it was closer and we could get to bed sooner. Of course, we still stayed up until 2 am with them playing bowling and doing the cow racing (on Wii Play).

I've been trying to convince Joe that we need a Wii...well I probably wouldn't have to convince him but I think he'd rather have the newest xBox. Maybe I can slip that one in on our wedding registry?

We've been hooked since Christmas, too. I'm really good at bowling but suck at tennis! LOL!

I found you through Menu Plan Monday, but have been visiting for a while. For some reason, I checked out your information section today (don't know why I hadn't done it earlier), and you brought tears to my eyes. I gave birth to twins in January, 2004. They were born at 31 weeks, and spent over a month in the hospital (after I spent a couple of weeks there myself). I am so very sorry for your loss.

You will be in my prayers.

I'm a Wii bit jealous - I want one! You should get the Paper Mario game - we have it for the N64 and the GameCube, and it's my favorite!

I'm not a huge video game player, but I have been interested to try out a Wii!! It sounds like more fun that your old standard ones like ninetendo.
