Because we have been sick this week, I have been a little behind in my plan for the menus this week. So, today, I made what I had planned for Tuesday night: No-Fuss Pork Chops, Rice, Orange Cake. I got it all made and...
we ate pizza! That is right! The pork chops and the rice went into the trash can! To put it mildly, they were not so tasty. I am so lucky to have a husband with a sense of humor. We just stood there in the kitchen and laughed while I went over to preheat the oven.
I plan to try the orange cake again, but this attempt will end up in the trash as well. I missed one tiny detail and put twice as much orange juice in as I should have and it turned out to not be quite the consistency of cake. We really could not decide how to describe it exactly.
Needless to say, dinner was not how I had planned it, but the pizza was good.
Moral of the story? Always have a frozen pizza in the freezer when you try a new recipe!

You're so funny! I've done that kind of thing too, and there's always the fallback of scrambled eggs & biscuits!
Amen sister!! I'm always a little worried when I try something new.
